A Day With The Graffs: November 2018

Buckle up this is a long post.

Wittle baby Dowin is gwowing up so fast! haha this was so funny to make.

It's even more comical when you scroll through our fb feed and see the "just had a baby," pregnancy announcement, baby turned 5 months today, pregnancy update, just had a baby, baby's first halloween, baby turned 1, baby loves green beans (as if it was incredibly important that we all know that) etc., etc. Literally over and over again. Before we moved to arizona I was out of the blue receiving baby magazines in the mail. It's like the universe just decided it was about time. Lol It's in my pinterest feed, almost every marco polo, instagram, and of course there's like 50 preggo's at any given time at my school. (Just in case it's something in the water I bring my own.) lol I think we are actually the last ones left in the entire world who haven't reproduced. lol

So anyway we see it enough that we had to make fun of it.

I think decorating is the only maternal skill that I have. Can't cook, sew, console crying things, and I haven't cleaned in a disgusting amount of time. I even gave up folding towels and I just shove them in the closet because I decided "what's the point." lol

But man I love decorating.

Dallin has brought shame on the family by losing fantasy football this year.

I took on the worst project yet and started on the banister. It sucked, but not as much as I thought it was going to.

When it was sprinkling a little outside, me and Jo still went out for morning coffee and Jake was acting like it would make him melt. lol He was just watching from inside and I had to threaten his life just to get him to go outside to pee.

Once he came out he was under this for a while before he would even venture out to pee. Lol what a wuss.

My coworker Harlene, the office manager left and we had a going away party for her. She did so much it's a wonder the school is still carrying on without her. She actually has super powers I think.

College week at the school so we had a door decorating contest and Chelsea put my door to shame.

So I love my job, and that's obvious. But sometimes it's really stressful and I'm left really exhausted and not wanting to move on the weekends. So this was me with deep conditioner on my hair, whitener on my teeth, doing my nails, and hibernating on the couch with harry potter all day one weekend. Lol dallin says I look homeless with my doo rag on.

We just spontaneously went to the 2nd story one night. He always makes me laugh so hard. I just remember laughing the whole time we were there.

We babysat Josie #2 again. I put the gate up for a couple weeks to try and teach Jojo that you can't swim in the winter (she's so dumb) and she was depressed about it. I took it down a couple days ago and she just got in. She doesn't care at all how cold it is.

Our Sonoma Trip!!!!!

It was so fun! It was relaxed and such an "adult" vacation. We saw san fran, golden gate bridge, authentic ramen, stayed in a picturesque cute house, got massages, toured 4 wineries. I swear everything we saw was pretty. We watched movies, played games, listened to 90s music, and ate a lot! We saw the coast, wrote in wine journals at tastings, learned how it's made, went to amazing restaurants (one was michelin rated) and it was just so cool. I'm so glad we went with Nick and Gianna too because they're so fun. Everything was so cozy and fall like. It was awesome to go and not spend that much money but still have an amazing time and wear fall clothes and see fall colors and snuggle in a sun room with tea and the softest blanket ever. lol

Leaving was a tad more stressful because once again I found that no one wants to sub for me. I remember one lady in 2016 left half way through the day subbing for me because it was just "too hard." Lol and I go through this 10 fold every freaking day people!

This one sub came and watched my class and then said "I don't know because it's really loud, active, and you have to do a lot."

Ummmm yeah. How do lazy people function in this world? So anyway, he told me word for word "unless I die I am committing to sub for you." He then proceeded to email me that night saying that it was against school policy to let students go practice in other rooms and I would be expecting him to do too much. And I made a lesson plan with the bare minimum! Without waking up at 5 to go coach before school! haha omg.

Long story short, he said he'd sub if he could sit in the chair and do nothing. So I was very upfront with the students and said "the sub is extremely lazy so you're going to have to run the class yourselves because he is not going to do a single thing." lol

Anyway, it was annoying, but it was kindof gratifying to know that what I do is hard but I accomplish it every day. It's not one of those jobs that you get a lot of attention for, you don't get a ton of money, and I'm in a constant state of losing my voice, but I think I'm good at it and that's saying something because it's something that not a lot of adults are willing to do.

This whole experience has made me think I need to make more money because what I do is not only mentally taxing but physically too. So when I saw this I was like "yeah sounds about right!"

Sue watched the kids and it worked out perfectly because she watched ours the week after we watched hers lol she is such a sweetheart and took care of them so well. She sent us pictures and we knew the kids were happy.

Dallin's San Diego Clearlink trip

Clear link decided vegas was too crazy so they went to san diego this year for their party. With that and our sonoma trip and his surprise party, I think Dallin got a great 30th birthday month.

He got breakfast in bed when it was his actual birthday morning from his friends.

Got our xc pics back and it's funny because its not the real team. We're missing a lot of the real members in the picture and some just showed up for pictures but never for any practices or meets so this pic is hilarious.

Getting ready for the winter show, so we're dancing to the hardest, weirdest songs to dance to. (because they're choir songs and we're in the aisles..... lol )

This was the last xc meet for hs. They wanted to do something on the day of state since they couldn't be in state so we signed up for a 5k with obstacles in the community.

I got new hair extensions from amazon. 50$ and came on a halo so it's so easy to put on. I love them so much!! (mirror is dirty in this pic lol )

It was stressful to put together as usual, but rewarding and fun. Here we are giving out medals.

The Parentals

Dallin's parents came for a couple weeks to visit. We were all busy, but we still got to spend a good amount of time with them. It was so nice they helped us buy a grill and taught us how to use it!

Sara made us a lot of food which is sooo nice since we don't cook at all.

We went with them to look at houses because they want to move to queen creek. And while we were looking we saw a huge turtle!

We went to tempe marketplace for dinner and it was so fun. There was a concert, and it is beautiful there.

Dallin and his dad took a bunch of stuff to the dump. Look at how crazy that is!

Then my dad and shelly came the same day sara and dave were leaving. We worked on house projects really hard all 4 of us and got a lot done.

Shelly literally fell through her chair... lol she will never live that one down unfortunately. We made pumpkin french toast because I was trying to be a good host or whatever. It wasn't that good.

They brought sammy and I was so glad because I love her. She is so old so she can't really hear that well but she is so so sweet. The dogs didn't really play with her at all though. Maybe it's because they could tell she's like a thousand years old.

Bunco Night November!

It was kindof stressful trying to take down all the scaffolding and clean really fast in time to host bunco but it ended up so fun. They're all down to earth people and it's pretty casual so I wasn't too worried. I just love these friends of mine and we always have the best time.

I went out with Tina and Lexi and we had so much fun! I want to do that every week! haha

Jake wouldn't stop licking his hands so I put socks on them. lol He seemed pretty annoyed by that.

Shopping Spree!

I decided we need new clothes so last night we went out to the keg and then mall stores and got a bunch of cute work clothes. I love that I can wear professional stuff now. Wearing sweats all the time makes me feel like a slob and I don't love it. I feel more energized and excited to go to work when I have a cute outfit to wear.
